Technical Support Engineer

OriginGPS is looking for a Technical Support Engineer with at least 3 years’ experience in the fields of GNSS and cellular communications to resolve customer problems, enabling them to successfully build solutions with OriginGPS products. The engineer will be part of the GNSS and Cellular IoT product teams and will work to ensure customer satisfaction in an exciting innovative environment for embedded devices and systems that are under space, performance and reliability constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify customer problems by determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to resolve the problem, and following up to ensure resolution
  • Build sustainable relationships of trust with partners and sales channels through open and interactive communication
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams, providing accurate, valid and complete information internally to team members, management and co-workers
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies
  • Suggest solutions when a product malfunctions, and help coordinate and handle product recalls
  • Overseas travel to exhibit GNSS and cellular IoT products and solutions at exhibitions and meet customers
  • Work closely with sales channels verifying new product information is conveyed in a timely and accurate manner


  • Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Working experience of at least 3 years in the fields of GNSS and cellular communication with proven ability to accomplish remote technical support
  • Practical knowledge of electronics and engineering principles behind network design and configuration
  • Strong understanding of the principles of satellite communications, GNSS protocols, cellular communication and IoT technologies
  • GNSS, and cellular IoT markets knowledge; available products, their pros and cons
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the GNSS, cellular communication and IoT fields
  • Familiarity with MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English within technical context
